Astronomical Advent

The Transit of Leo’s Regulus by the Meridian:

Morning Twilights Before the Winter Solstice.

“Starry Night” by Vincent van Gogh

Night Sky Map & Planets Visible Tonight

The constellation of Leo can be observed near the zenith as the Winter Solstice approaches during this time of the year in the Northern hemisphere. Regulus, at the heart of the Lion, can be tracked as it crosses the meridian 4 minutes earlier as twilight ends each morning.

Between 5 and 6 A.M. (EST), a spiritual alignment ritual can be practiced as a preparation for the Winter Solstice and the annual rebirth of the Sol Invictus.

Advent Ritual
(on a starry night in the tropical sign of Sagittarius)

1. Level your head and balance your body, facing toward Polaris (North Star, in Ursa Minor). Take a reverent bow to the nearby Ursa Major (whose stars Dubhe and Merak are pointing to).

2.1 Turn around to face the Southern hemisphere. With Polaris as the polar axis of your head (crown chakra), visualize the stars and constellations projected on the inner walls of your skull. Feel the sky rotating around the crown chakra as you align the tip of your nose (sundial “gnomon”), and the pineal gland in your brain, with Polaris.

2.2 With your brow chakra (Ajna) as your organ of vision, scan the inner and outer sky: Aldebaran and the Pleiades in Taurus setting in the West, Antares in Scorpio rising in the East, Regulus in Leo above, and Aquarius below. Realize that this is the Fixed Cross of Discipleship (IHS, 213).

“I play my part with stern resolve, with earnest aspiration; I look above, I help below; I dream not, nor I rest; I toil; I serve; I reap; I pray; I am the Cross; I am the Way; I tread upon the work I do; I mount upon my slain self; I kill desire, and I strive, forgetting all reward.  I forego peace; I forfeit rest, and in the stress of pain I lose myself and find Myself and enter into peace.”

3. Recite the Mantra of Fixed Determination of Alignment with the Will of God (DINA II, 141)

“In the centre of the will of God I stand.
Naught shall deflect my will from His.
I implement that will by love.
I turn towards the field of service.
I, the Triangle divine [Ursa Major, Sirius, Pleiades], work out that will
Within the square [Fixed Cross] and serve my fellowmen.”

4. Focusing on Aquarius in the South, recite the Mantra of the New Group of World Servers as you widen the field of vision of your inner eye to include all cardinal directions.

“May the Power of the one Life pour through the group of all true servers.
May the Love of the one Soul characterise the lives of all who seek to aid the Great Ones.
May I fulfill my part in the one Work through self-forgetfulness, harmlessness, and right speech.”

5. Join all coworkers aligned with restoring the Plan of Love and Light on Earth — North, South, East and West — reciting the Great Invocation to “prepare [humanity] for the reappearance of the Christ… your first and greatest duty.” EOH 641

From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth.

From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ return to Earth.

From the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men–
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.

From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
