In Nature, there are three fundamental forces pushing or pulling things at a distance, that is, forces operating in an invisible field, without visible physical contact:
- Gravitational force, as in the falling of an apple, or a scale measuring weight.
- Magnetic force, as in the attraction and repulsion of magnets.
- Electrical force, as in generating a flow of electrons, by a bike’s dynamo hub or a solar panel, to run a lightbulb.
The magnetic and the electrical forces, unified as electromagnetism, operate by the interaction of positive and negative charges. The gravitational field, on the other hand, operates without any interaction of electrical charges. Instead, space is bent by gravitational forces, pulling objects within a gravitational field invisibly created by the curvature of space.
Which begs the question: what is space?
Contrary to common belief, space is not a void.
- Space is the transparent — not empty — medium in which action-a-distance forces operate. Even light is invisible is a transparent medium.
- Space is the medium connecting subatomic particles separated by great physical distances.
- Space is a living matrix of subatomic points of energy in constant flux.
Matter is the condensation of energy necessary for light to become visible by contrast. For instance, colors are but reflections resulting from the interaction of light with matter. Light is not visible without contrasts.
Which begs another question: how to discern between an invisible reality, such as a field of force, and a fantasy, a figment of the imagination?
Two plausible answers, among many. First, direct cognition, enabled by extrasensory perception and the intuitive sense.
Second, by inductive reasoning and correct causal inferences, derived from experimentation through the five senses and their physical extensions.
Both are scientific, that is, based on evidence, depending on the scope of consciousness of the observer.
Which begs a third question: what is a fact?
For a 2-D consciousness, a circle is a fact, and a sphere is inferred.
For a 3-D consciousness, a cube is a fact, and a hypercube is inferred. For a 4-D consciousness, the hypercube is a fact.
Likewise, reliable testimony of advanced observers throughout the ages [Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras]
have confirmed the facts of space as a living entity, the primacy of consciousness over matter, and the lightness of being. These facts are currently being inferred by modern physics [The Lightness of Being by Frank Wilczek].

It is the duty of the rational mind to debunk fantasy and superstition, as in many conspiracy theories. However, to disproof an invisible reality, physical scientists would need to refine their instruments of observation, or better still, to become the instruments of observation themselves, widening their scope of consciousness.
Facts — visible and invisible — are, indeed, stubborn things.
An Introduction to Esotericism for Children
Suggested workshop on invisible realities.
1. Play with magnets. Can they visualize the field of forces pushing and pulling magnets?
2. Drop a magnet. Can they visualize the gravitational field pulling the magnet down? Can they understand how the field of a magnet can overcome the pull of the force of gravitation on another magnet?
3. Operate miniature solar panels for toys, or drive a bike to generate electricity to run a dynamo light bulb.
